Wimbledon 2012

Wimbledon 2012, Aniruddha bapu, bapu, Wimbledon 2012, Grand Slam title, Pete Sampras, Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal
Yesterday I had an opportunity to watch Wimbledon Final for a while. It was a superb game between two very much talented players. Federer’s fans were delighted to see how he won his 17th Grand Slam title, the most by any player. He  also regained his ‘World Number 1’ spot and equaled world record of Pete Sampras for holding this spot for 286 weeks. But I was told that the match between Federer and Djokovic was much more exciting and better played than the final.

Federer’s consistent performance shows his “commitment to his cause”. It is also to be noted that Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal have won 29 of the last 30 Grand Slam titles between them.

  3. So true……..watching these great players play is a treat for the eyes! also it was a pleasure to know that Roger Federer immediately after the win said that his Inspiration for the win came from his 3months old little twin girls!!

  4. Shree ram Dada For Sharing this. i wanna share view of Federer which i read on yahoo news. I this found intresting. (link directly from your sports news)

“Because I had such a great run and I know there's still more possible.”

Whatever feats Federer goes on to add in the final chapter of his career, he can rest assured that he has elevated the men's game to previously unimaginable heights.

He raised the bar, Nadal and Djokovic took up the challenge, and, despite marriage and the responsibility of twin daughters, Federer is reacting again, striving to be even better.

“I want to leave the game better off than when I came into this great game, which was already unbelievable with the great rivalries we had,” Federer said.
