Spain seeing rise of the Right-wing as economic and social problems grow

Pablo Casado, the leader of the People’s Party (PP) has unveiled the 'Vision of Centre-Right Future for Spain'. The conservative PP has promised fiscal reforms, labour market changes and simplification of governance in its vision document. PP's popularity is rising fast. The recent win of Isabel Diaz Ayuso in the Madrid election is a pointer to the fact. Diaz Ayuso, a conservative, is considered the fastest rising leader in Spain. It is believed that she would give a hard time to the sitting Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez, at the next general election due in 2023. Sanchez represents Socialist Workers' Party. At the same, Vox, a hard-right group too is catching up fast in Spanish politics. In fact, Vox has called Sanchez’s government the worst in the last 80 years for Spain. As per opinion polls and as suggested by some surveys, PP and Vox could secure a majority in the 2023 elections. Spain is seeing the rise of the Right-wing parties as economic and social problems grow.

CCP insists on next Dalai Lama to be chosen in China

Penpa Tsering has been elected the new President of the Tibetan exile government in the recently held polls. On assuming the chair, he has expressed readiness for talks to resolve the Sino-Tibet conflict. However, just before his Tibetan elections, the Chinese Communist Party insisted that the next Dalai Lama be chosen in China. Thus, the CCP has mounted pressure on the Tibetan administration as it wants their proxy candidate to be Dalai Lama. With it, CCP plans to control the Tibetans and also influence Buddhism. A few days back, Gyaltsen Norbu, the disputed China-appointed Panchen Lama, said that Tibet would be 'Sinicized' and adopt socialist traits. Critics call it a plan to destroy Tibetan culture, religion, heritage and language. Also, China has formed a $3 billion 'Lumbini Recovery Plan' to project Nepal's Lumbini as the centre of Buddhism. With all this, it is clear that China wants to subvert India, Dalai Lama and alter the global narrative on Buddhism.
