India-Venezuela seek to enhance bilateral cooperation

New Delhi: India and Venezuela have initiated efforts to strengthen bilateral relations. This will involve a boost to increase cooperation in Pharmaceutical industry and educational sectors soon. Venezuela is an important country in India’s Look East and then Act East Policy.  Eastern oil-rich countries are exporting oil to India along with the US and China. India is the third largest oil purchaser on Venezuela’s export list after the US and China. India has been receiving increased number of opportunities to be involved in oil extraction in Venezuela.

Chennai coast oil spill problem is alarming

Chennai : The oil spill in the previous week near the Chennai’s Ennore Port caused by accidental collision of two oil tankers seems to be 10 times larger than the original estimate. This will cause additional delay of 2 weeks to clean the Ennore coast, as per the predictions of the Coast guards. The ghastly after effects of the oil spill are visible not only on the Ennore coast but also on other coasts of Tamil Nadu. This issue also seems to have echoed in the parliament as it was presented in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday.
