The Great Game of China

North Korea's Supreme Leader, Kim Jong-Un on Saturday claimed to have successfully tested an engine designed for an inter-continental ballistic missile (ICBM). "Now North Korea can tip new type inter-continental ballistic rockets with more powerful nuclear warheads and keep any cesspool of evils in the earth including the US mainland within our striking range," exclaimed Kim, who monitored the test.

China has been alleged by the international community of aiding and abetting the nuclear and conventional weapons programmes of North Korea. But to maintain its rosy diplomatic face China has also pretended to have slapped sanction against North Korea. But with this test its all the more clearer to the world that Chinese sanctions have been nothing more than hogwash.

China's illegitimate claim over the whole of South China Sea, in violation of the international maritime rules and its building or artificial islands and claiming of those belonging to its neighbours has been the root cause of standoff in this region.

Thursday marked another such testing of experimental unmanned, drone-like robotic ship for anti-submarine operations. The 132-feet-long prototype, christened 'Sea Hunter', is considered to be something similar to Google self-driving car, but designed to cruise on the ocean’s surface. At a time it can stay for two or three months at ocean without a crew or anyone controlling it remotely. It is regarded as a major advance in robotic warfare at the core of US's strategy to counter Chinese and Russian naval engagements in the Pacific.

China has not only been behind the South China Sea conflict but it has actively supported every initiative of Pakistan aimed against India right since inception of Pakistan. Like North Korea, Pakistan's nuclear programme too is believed to have been China's illegitimate child born out of clandestine nuclear proliferation between the two countries.

To conclude all this on a shorter note, the future of conflict and peace both are now in China’s hands.
