Foundation Day of Aniruddha's Academy of Disaster Management

Crowd Control

On 14th March 2002, Dr. Aniruddha D. Joshi, had announced the  formation of ‘Aniruddha’s Academy of Disaster Management’ (AADM). Aniruddha’s Academy of Disaster Management was initiated to build a strong volunteer base across the globe to equip and help common man during disasters-natural or man made. Irrespective of religion, race, gender or any other wordly differences, AADM imparts training to all the applicants totally free of cost.

Since its inception, AADM has tried its best to justify its aims and objectives with the diligent efforts of its trained Disaster Management Volunteers (DMVs) under the guidance of Dr. Joshi. AADM services have earned appreciation from Government and Police authorities alike from time to time for the assistance that the organization has provided to them.

So far, AADM has imparted training to 68756 volunteers who are ready to lend a helping hand whenever required. There are also around 700 ‘Transmitters’ who deliver lectures and impart training about various disaster management topics. AADM has conducted 1,513 training courses till date alongwith 215 corporate courses. The Corporate courses have been conducted at places like Naval Dockyard, Herdilia Chemicals, Kanakia Spaces, Navy Stores Department, BEST, PWD, Orchid Hotel, R Steinmetz & Sons India, Mittal College, CHM College, Mumbra Hospital to name a few.

AADM has also been rendering crowd control services to help authorities during many public festivals viz Ganeshotsav festival, Annual Mt. Mary Fair and at public worship places like Siddhivinayak Temple, Wadala Vitthal Mandir, Babulnath Mandir, etc. on relevantly important days. These sevas have helped to a great extent in averting possible disasters like stampede.

AADM also undertakes projects like Vermiculture, Pulse Polio Immunisation drives, Parade, etc.

Disaster Management

One more feather in AADM’s cap was when a pilot batch of its DMVs completed the ‘Traffic Warden’ training. These DMV’s are now assisting the Traffic Police department in managing the chronic issue of traffic congestion in Mumbai.

National and human interest has always been on top priorities of AADM. In view of increasing number of manmade and natural disasters, and the impending clouds of war in various regions of the world, the importance of disaster management and mitigation is critical.

I wish the Aniruddha’s Academy of Disaster Management and its Disaster Management Volunteers all the very best for their devotional work in times to come.
