German elections result creates impact on European elections, indicate rise in right wing groups in Europe.
Vienna : In the elections held in Germany, the right wing Alternative for Germany (AfD) aggressive party had given a major blow gaining 13 percent votes. This result in Germany has created a huge impact on other European countries and it is predicted that right wing groups will be getting a lead in the elections taking place in Austria and Czech Republic next month. Austria’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Sebastian Kurz has stated a possibility of joining hands with the right wing group ‘Freedom party’ of their country. Elections being held on 15 October in Austria, the allies ‘Social Democratic Party’ and Kurz’s ‘Austrian People’s Party’ have parted ways. On this background, Kurz has taken an open stand about the migrants and has appealed that it is time for the country to change. He has also indicated to join hands with parties supporting his opinions. His stance has come as a shock to politics in Austria

The German elections witness Merkel`s victory, with the rise of the far-right group
Berlin: The results of the parliamentary elections conducted on Sunday in Germany have been declared and it is now clear that long-time Chancellor Angela Merkel shall hold the reigns of the nation. At the same time, the entry of the radical far-right group ‘Alternative for Germany’ (AfD) into the parliament, has shocked not only Germany but entire Europe. The entry of the far-right, aggressive group into the German parliament, after a lapse of seven decades, since the death of the German ex-dictator Adolf Hitler, shall certainly cause a great turmoil in the political structure, indicate analysts. At the same time, the decline in votes of Chancellor Merkel and the associate parties is attributed to the ‘refugee influx’.
The parliamentary elections in Germany were held on Sunday. In the pre-election forecast, the leading German newspaper, ’Bild’, had estimated, that the support to the leading party of Merkel’s would decline below 35% and the ‘Alternative for Germany’, would receive 13% of the votes.

Catalonia is all set for referendum, claims the President of Catalonia
Barcelona/Madrid : Catalonian government has decided to conduct referendum on Sunday and accordingly President of Catalonia, Carles Puigdemont announced that they are done with all the preparations. However, the Spanish Government has clarified this referendum to be illegal and unconstitutional and has warned to disrupt it. On Sunday, October 1, referendum has been organised for Catalonia’s independence and this incident is recognized as the biggest dilemma in the history of democratic Spain. As only 24 hours are being left for the referendum, its related activites have gathered speed. It is noticed that both the groups, Spain Government and Catalonia Government are totally prepared. On this background, President of Catalonia, Carles Puigdemont has stated in an interview to a news agency that his Government is completely prepared for referendum.

Merkel supports ‘open door policy’ on the backdrop of German elections
Berlin : On the background of increasing terrorist attacks and the rise in hatred against immigrants, German Chancellor Angela Merkel once again has supported the ‘open door policy’. Due to ensuing elections next month, Merkel suggested that if needed she shall repeat such decision in future as well as she had taken two years back. Although it is claimed that even though Merkel is ahead in this election, a strong resentment against the immigrants is clearly visible. In such circumstances Chancellor Merkel’s support has drawn attention.
“If needed I am ready to repeat the decision taken in the year 2015 with regards to immigrants.
