Hari Om Friend,

The onset of good monsoon brings joy, on the contrary, any delay brings anxious moments. Let us pray that our country gets a good monsoon this season. However, as responsible citizens, we also need to take appropriate steps to avoid the ill-effects of scanty rainfall. Sadguru Aniruddha has been inspiring and guiding us with various initiatives to find an effective solution to face these problems. ‘Shree Vandurga Yojana’ is one such measure undertaken by the Organisation. The large-scale plantation of certain trees and shrubs can prove to be a very effective remedy for deforestation, soil erosion, desertification and global warming. The oxygen that the trees breathe out is our basic, vital need and the carbon dioxide that they breathe in is a major contributor to the global warming. They give us exactly what we need and absorb exactly what harms us. They assure us of rain and so they take care of all vital needs that support human life. ‘Shree Vanadurga Yojana’ is an initiative, which will help us to restore our environment’s balance.

Shree Vandurga Yojana

Environmental degradation is posing a great threat to the human survival. With a view to lend a helping hand in restoring the ecological balance, Shree Aniruddha Upasana Foundation, along with Aniruddha's Academy of Disaster Management has been proactively organising ‘Tree plantation drives’ in many parts of Maharashtra.

A few months ago, Sadguru Aniruddha introduced us to the "Shree Vanadurga Yojna" which emphasised on the importance of tree plantation. The frequent cutting of trees has resulted in a haphazard environment. Thus, Shree Vanadurga Yojna is an initiative, which will help us to restore our environment’s balance.

Apart from enhancing the beauty of the environment, trees help in combating the climate change by reducing global warming. Along with lending a helping hand towards the redevelopment of our environment, Bapu has also stressed on the importance of spirituality and of chanting mantras (remembering Mother Jagadamba) while performing this activity, which will add immense positivity to it.

This initiative can be accomplished by following these easy scientific steps

1. As per the principle of ‘You Reap As You Sow’, the key element here is to utilise the seeds of the fruits after their consumption for tree plantation. Instead of disposing the seeds of fruits instantly, they can be washed and dried for testing their capability of germination. Seeds of any fruit like Sapodilla (chikoo), custard apple (sitaphal) Mango, etc., can be stored and utilised for the same purpose.

2. Put the seeds in a container full of water after they are dried. If the seeds sink all the way down to the bottom, consider them prepared for germination. Rest of the floating ones, can be disposed off. The activity for tree plantation must ideally be done in the period from the month of May to June. This allows the seeds to acquire apt sunlight and rainwater and speeds up the process of germination.

3. This activity can be performed at an individual level and even as a collective effort by the local Upasana Centres. Anybody and everybody, who wishes to participate in this activity can seek details from the local Upasana Centres. Bapu has always emphasised on the importance of performing Upasana collectively and has also said that participating in this activity in itself is an Upasana.

Chanting the mantras ‘Om Namaschandikaye’ or ‘Om Shri Vanadurgaye Namah’ while sowing every seed is considered an essential element of the activity. Shri Vanadurga Mata is one of the avatars of Goddess Mother Durga, Who is considered utmost important in relation to the nature and forest. Hence, remembering Her while planting the saplings is considered sacred.
